Over the weekend, Raphoe and Cork Marts announced that their weekly sales for this coming week are cancelled due to rising cases of Covid-19.

Taking to their Facebook pages the two marts said that due to rising Covid-19 cases in both areas that their scheduled sales for this coming week would be cancelled.

On Friday, January 1, a post on the Raphoe Mart’s Facebook page said: In the interest of the health and safety of our staff and customers, we have taken the decision to defer the opening of the mart due to the current situation with rising case numbers. There will be no sales this week.

In the meantime stay safe and thank you for your patience and understanding. Keep an eye on our page for updates.

While today, (January 3), a post on the Cork Co-op Marts Facebook page read:  In light of the serious Covid-19 situation, we have decided to defer all our mart sales for one week.

Therefore, we will resume our weekly sales from Monday, January 11. Sorry for any inconvenience caused, but we are very conscious of the safety of all our staff and customers at this difficult time.
