Members of An Garda Síochána have arrested one man and recovered five quads believed to have been stolen after carrying out a search in Co. Kildare earlier this week.

A vehicle thought to have been used to transport the quad bikes was also taken, local Gardaí noted.

In a brief statement on the matter on Friday evening (February 5), Gardaí based in the Kildare area said:

“Following a burglary in Ballitore on January 28, in which a quad bike was stolen, Garda from Athy assisted by Athy detectives carried out a search in north Kildare on the 1st February.

During the search Gardai recovered five suspected stolen quad bikes and a vehicle believed to be used in the transport of quad bikes was also seized.

“One male was arrested and charged to appear at Naas District Court later this month,” the Garda statement concluded.

A quad believed to be stolen was also seized by Gardaí in the midlands last month, where Gardaí belonging to Tullamore and Edenderry Detective Units in Co. Offaly uncovered a red vehicle after carrying out searches on Saturday, January 23.

Appealing for the rightful owner to come forward, Gardaí highlighted that proof of ownership would be required to claim it.
