Michael Moroney has been announced as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the association of Farm & Forestry Contractors in Ireland (FCI).
FCI National Chairman, Richard White from Drangan, Thurles, Co. Tipperary, also confirmed that the association had now established a national office at Portlaoise Enterprise Centre, Clonminam Business Park, Portlaoise, Co. Laois. All activities will be conducted from there from now on.
“This new and central location provides FCI members with an independent office with facilities for meetings in order to showcase the importance of the farm and forestry contractor sector to a wide range of organisations and groups,” said White.
Michael Moroney has now taken over the day-to-day running of the association as its first Chief Executive Officer.
“We are delighted to have Michael on board to help steer the future development of FCI. Michael has worked with us during our development phase and has been helpful to me as National Chairman and to the entire 16-person voluntary executive council in planning for the future,” said White.
Michael brings a wealth of experience to FCI, having managed FTMTA from 2000 to 2008, where he was Chief Executive Officer.
“He oversaw the growth and development of the Farm Machinery Show and its relocation to Punchestown as well as the establishment of the FTMTA Farm Machinery Industry Training Centre in Naas, Co Kildare,” he said. FCI will be present at the FTMTA Farm Machinery Show in early February.
“We look forward to the support of farm and forestry contractors from across the country and meeting them at the forthcoming FTMTA Farm Machinery Show as we embark on a significant new phase for the future,” said White.
