The driver of a 4×4 which was towing a “distinctive” flatbed trailer is being sought by members of the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) following a hit-and-run traffic incident that occurred over the weekend in Co. Down.
The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon at around 2:30pm in Bangor, in the northeast of the county, local PSNI officers believe.
In an appeal for details about the incident, PSNI officers based in Co. Down said:
“Police are appealing for information and witnesses following a hit-and-run road traffic collision that occurred on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at approximately 2:30pm on the Upper Gransha Road, Bangor.
We are particularly keen to speak to the driver of a silver Mitsubishi Shogun. It was towing a distinctive flatbed trailer with mesh side panels.
“If you have any relevant information, please ring 101 and quote serial 1007 of 07/02/2021,” the PSNI appeal concluded.
Hitachi digger stolen from Omagh
Meanwhile, in Co. Tyrone, investigations are underway following the theft of a Hitachi digger from a premises in Omagh.
In a statement, PSNI officers said: “Police in Omagh are investigating the theft of a 22t orange Hitachi digger from the Crockanboy Road in Omagh.
The theft occurred between 3:30pm on Friday, February 5, and 11:15am on Saturday, February 6.
Calling on anyone who may have seen the orange digger being towed, or have been offered the sale of the digger, the PSNI officers said:
“If you feel you can help, please make contact with Omagh police on 101 and quote reference 705 of 06/02/21.”
