Carbery Group has announced its decision to lift its milk price for January – becoming the latest processor to reveal its price for last month’s supplies.
In a short statement this afternoon (Thursday, February 18), a spokesperson for the four-strong group said:
“Carbery Group has increased its milk price for January by 0.5c/L.
If this decision is replicated across the four West Cork co-ops; Bandon, Barryroe, Drinagh and Lisavaird, this will result in an average price for January of 33c/L, inclusive of VAT.
“This price is inclusive of 1cpl in support which continues to be paid from the stability fund,” the representative added.
The price is exclusive of Somatic Cell Count (SCC) or any other adjustments which may be made by the co-ops.
The Carbery spokesperson confirmed that the ongoing resilience in dairy markets and resulting confidence is driving the milk price increase.
Strathroy and Arrabawn
Meanwhile, earlier this week, Strathroy confirmed that it has held its price for January.
This means that a base price of 32.05c/L including VAT will be paid to the Tyrone-based processor’s suppliers for last month’s milk.
Earlier today, Arrabawn also took the move to lift its milk price.
A spokesperson for the co-op said:
The Arrabawn board has decided to increase its milk price for January by 0.5c to 32.06c/L.
The co-op’s price is based on the standard 3.3% protein and 3.6% butterfat, including VAT.
This follows price announcements from Dairygold and Kerry Group earlier this week.
