Northern Ireland Southern Area Hospice Services are looking for single farmers to take part in an exciting new fundraising event entitled ‘The Farmer Wants a Wife’.

‘The Farmers Wants a Wife’, which is being very kindly supported by main sponsor Tullyherron Farm Feeds and also by Alan Milne Tractors, will take place in Armagh City Hotel on Friday 11 October 2013 and it will see a number of single famers compete for the affections of the members of the audience to help raise funds for Southern Area Hospice Services.

On the night, the brave farmers will be interviewed on stage giving them the chance to ‘woo’ the potential wives in the audience with their wit, charm and farming expertise! The farmers will also be given the opportunity to showcase any talents or party-tricks which they may possess.

The audience and judging panel, which includes farmer’s wife, blogger and author of ‘Would You Marry a Farmer’, Lorna Sixsmith, and President of the Young Farmers’ Clubs of Ulster, Martyn Blair, will place their votes to determine who the winner is. If any of the ladies in the audience are blown away by the winning farmer they can bid in an auction to win a date with him. There will be music by Colorado Fever to end the night.

Kieran Shields, Director of Tullyherron Farm Feeds said: “We are delighted to be associated with this fundraising event for Southern Area Hospice Services and we will certainly be encouraging local single farmers to participate in ‘The Farmer Wants a Wife’.  We are looking forward to a great night’s entertainment in Armagh City Hotel on 11th October as well as raising funds for such a worthy cause.”

Anne Mac Oscar of Southern Area Hospice Services also encouraged eligible farmers to come forward to take part in the event, saying: “The Farmer Wants a Wife promises to be a fantastic night and we would encourage as many eligible farmers as possible to get involved to help raise much needed funds for the Hospice, so we can continue our work helping people in the local community who are living with terminal illnesses. Southern Area Hospice Services have a fundraising target of £2.3million sterling for 2013 and with over half the year already gone this still seems a long way off. We are very grateful for the support of our main sponsor for this event, Tullyherron Farm Feeds and also to Alan Milne Tractors.”

So, if you’re single and game for a laugh, or know someone who is then please contact Anne on 028 30251333 or email [email protected] for a registration form. Tickets, priced at £10 sterling each, can also be purchased for the event by ringing the same number.
