A farm machinery clearance auction was held by Micheal Doyle Auctions on Saturday, February 10, in Fenagh, Co. Carlow.

The sale was held on behalf of Balfarm Group. According to the auctioneer, Micheal Doyle, the equipment on offer was all locally-sourced.

There was a varied range of items on offer, including: tractors; trailers; tillage, grass and livestock equipment; sprayers; loaders; feeders; and even a combine.

According to the auctioneer, over 340 bidding numbers were issued on the day. Prospective buyers from as far away as counties Cavan, Clare, Cork and even Mayo attended, alongside local punters.

Michael said that he was “very pleased with the outcome”.

All sale (hammer) prices were subject to a ‘buyer’s premium’ (plus VAT at 23%) as follows:

  • 5% buyer’s commission on transactions up to €8,000;
  • €400 plus VAT on transactions between €8,001 and €10,000;
  • €500 plus VAT on transactions above €10,000.
