Members of An Garda Síochána have appealed to the public to report any suspicious activity which may have been seen earlier this week, after two sheds were broken into in Co. Offaly.

The sheds were hit with an overnight raid on Monday night (August 31) into Tuesday morning, according to Gardaí based in the Laois-Offaly region.

In a plea for information, Gardaí said:

“Tullamore Gardaí are appealing to the people in the Killoughey and Rathrobin areas to report any suspicious activity they may have seen on the evening of August 31, into September 1, after two sheds were broken into.

A cement mixer, diesel fuel and assorted tools were taken.

“We are now seeing the evenings getting shorter so remember our crime prevention advice and to ‘Lock up; light up’.”

Quoting Covid-19 Home Crime Prevention Advice, Gardaí urged the public to: keep lights on inside and out; not keep large amounts of cash at home; and keep valuables and keys out of sight.

From a technological point of view, the public is advised: to be alert to online and telephone scams; and not to share personal or financial data.
