After a wet weekend around the country, this week’s weather looks unsettled until the weekend which Met Eireann says may see lots of sunshine.

Today will be warm but will see widespread showers, some heavy and prolonged. Eastern counties will have fewer showers. Rather warm with highest temperatures 16 to 19 degrees in a moderate South to Southeasterly breeze.

Tonight will bring further showers and clear spells. It will be another mild night with lowest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees in a light to moderate Southerly breeze.

Tomorrow, according to Met Eireann, will be a very showery day countrywide with some thundery downpours likely and the risk of spot flooding. Scattered heavy showers or thunderstorms will die out on Tuesday night and it will become dry countrywide with some mist and shallow fog patches forming.

Later in the week, will see cloudy conditions with some patchy light rain or drizzle. The long-range forecast for the weekend is good, with a lot of dry weather and sunshine at times and near normal temperatures for the time of year.
