There will be little change in the weather this week. According to Met Eireann, conditions will vary from day to day. Overall it says it will be unsettled with rain at times.

Temperatures are also set to vary at times over the coming week. It is set to be quite cold at times with the chance of frost some nights.

Met Eireann says any frost and fog will clear this morning to give a largely dry, bright day with sunny spells. There is set to be some showers in the west and the north during the morning but these will die off in the afternoon. Temperatures will be between five and eight degrees

According to Met Eireann, cloud and rain will move into the west coast this evening. The rain is set to spread eastwards tonight. Early in the night it will be quite cold in Leinster and east Ulster where there is the risk of frost and ice.

More rain is forecast for Tuesday morning. The rain will turn to showers from the west during the course of the afternoon. Temperatures are set to range from seven to 10 degrees.

Forecasters expect most of the rain will have cleared and Tuesday night will be dry. However showers will develop along western coastal counties. It will be cool with lows of zero to four degrees.

According to Met Eireann, Wednesday will be a cool day with good sunny spells and scattered showers. Temperatures will climb to between six and eight degrees in moderate westerly winds. The night is set to be cold on Wednesday cold overnight with frost and fog likely, with lows of minus one to plus two degrees.

Thursday will see showers in northern areas; however it will be dry for the rest of the country. Met Eireann says there will be little change in the day time temperatures and once again temperatures will hover just below or just above freezing at night.

At this stage Met Eireann says rain will spread eastwards slowly from the west on Friday morning. It notes that parts of Leinster may stay dry until the evening. Friday is set to be a milder day with highs of nine or 10 degrees in moderate southerly winds.

Met Eireann says as of now next weekend looks like being quite unsettled with spells of rain.
