There’s a good deal of warm and dry weather on the way this weekend, but there will be some showers in parts of the country too, according to Met Eireann.

The fine weather will mean drying conditions will be reasonably good and spraying conditions will be good at times as winds remain light.

Today, Thursday, will be a cool and mostly cloudy day with scattered outbreaks of rain or drizzle.

There is a risk of some heavier bursts in Munster and south Leinster in the afternoon and evening as highest temperatures range between 11 to 15 degrees with little or no wind.

Tonight will have a mix of cloudy periods and some clear intervals, Met Eireann has forecast. It will be mainly dry but there may be a little drizzle in places. It will be a mild night with lowest temperatures of 5 to 10 degrees.

Friday

Tomorrow, Friday, is forecast to be mainly dry with a mix of cloud and sunshine, although a few showers may develop in the afternoon over the northern half of the country.

Highest temperatures tomorrow will range between 15 to 18 degrees with little or no wind.

Saturday

Looking to the weekend and Saturday morning is forecast to be mainly dry with sunny spells.

Met Eireann has said that from around noon onwards showers will develop in many areas, some of them will be heavy.

Eastern parts of Leinster and Ulster will stay mainly dry and there will be highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees with light easterly breezes.

Sunday

According to Met Eireann, Sunday will start off dry with sunny spells. However, during the afternoon and evening, heavy showers will develop over midlands and the western half of the country.

Current indications suggest that it should stay mainly dry in the east and highest temperatures will range between 16 to 21 degrees, warmest in the midlands and coolest along coasts.

Next week

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of next week will bring a good deal of dry weather, Met Eireann has forecast.

However, there’ll be some showers in the afternoons, mainly over the western half of the country.

It will be a warm week, with temperatures ranging from the high teens to low 20s and winds will be mostly light northeasterly.
