Tomorrow, Sunday May 11, sees Virginia host its craft, food and leisure fare, at the Show Centre.

From 12 noon, at the Show Centre, there will be a host of family activities and exhibits on show. There will be 50 stands, including crafts, art, food, voluntary sports and leisure organisations.

Local artists will have an arts display and will have pictures and paintings to sell, while the leisure section will include sporting organisations for all age groups, including new activities so people can spent leisure more wisely and healthily.

Gardening and DIY will feature with some new designs on display, it affords many local small entrepreneurs an opportunity to showcase their businesses and it gives the public an insight into what is available in the area.

The day will also include two full puppet shows by the well-known Lambert Family of Wanderly Wagon fame. They will tell the story of Dinin and the Naughty Dog.

The dog show takes place at 3pm while entries will be taken from 2pm and consists of eight classes with an overall champion of the show, so bring along the family pet and you might win.

Virginia Show Society is made up of 200 plus members, mainly farmers and part-time farmers who also work and run local businesses. The show committee draws its membership primarily from the South-east Cavan area, and is very much cross community in nature. The Committee which now spans in some cases three generations of the same family has successfully run Virginia Agricultural Show for 72 years.
