Thurles-based Hattat importer and distributor, Billy O’Dwyer (BOD) Machinery, will showcase examples of its Turkish tractors at the Fermanagh County Show, in Northern Ireland next Tuesday and Wednesday, August 1 and 2.
A Hattat T4000 Series model, alongside the Massey Ferguson inspired 240S, will be on display.
The T4000 Series consists of four models, which are all powered by Perkins engines. The line-up ranges from 82 to 110hp, courtesy of Perkins T3A 1104D-44T/A engines.
This power is fed to the wheels by either a 12X12 transmission in the smaller models or a 24X24 box in the larger offerings. A mechanical shuttle lever is mounted on the dash.
On the T4000 range, electrical control allows for switch-operation of PTO functions. Similarly, a ‘Hi-Shift’ button on the gear levers allows gear-changes to be made on the go – without de-pressing the clutch pedal.
Among the standard specifications are electric operation of the 4WD and differential lock plus electronic lift control. Standard equipment also includes four double-acting spool valves, a hydraulic top-link and hydraulic self-levelling of the right-side drop arm. A Dromone hitch completes the package.
The Hattat 240S, as previously highlighted by AgriLand, is based on older-generation Massey Fergusons; it is produced under licence by the Turkish manufacturer.
The 240S is powered by a 50hp, 3-cylinder Perkins T3A 1103D-33 engine.
According to the distributor, the rear transaxle is “largely derived from that used on a Massey Ferguson 390”. It also incorporates “four-disc, oil-immersed wet brakes”.
The tractor offers eight forward and two reverse gears in total, with “partial synchromesh on the higher gears”.
Two double-acting spool valves are provided as standard, along with an anti-roll bar. A Walsh cab, manufactured in Co. Kerry, is available as an option. The 240S can be specified without a pick-up hitch, if so desired.
Who Or What Is Hattat?
Hattat Traktor, part of Hattat Group, was established in 1998. Having embarked on production and R&D (Research and Development) activities in 2002 to build a 100% local Turkish tractor, mass production of its first (branded) tractor kicked off five years later – in 2007.
Transmissions, differentials, rear axles, 4WD front axles and hydraulic components were produced in the Cerkezkoy plants by Hattat Group. Models with horsepower ratings from 50 to 102hp rolled off the line. They were sold not just to farmers, but also to buyers looking for compact and utility tractors.
As a result of a “technical cooperation” agreement (signed in 2003) with Valtra, Hattat Traktor became the distributor for Valtra in Turkey. Following a second agreement in 2007, Valtra A Series tractors started to be produced in Turkey – for sale in many countries around the world.
Nowadays, the company builds tractors for sale in more than 80 countries all over the world.
