Trade stands at tomorrow’s Virginia Show are “totally packed out”, according to Kaye Duffy, Press Officer of the Show Centre.

She said that the Virginia Show will have over 250 trade stands this year including food stands.

“A lot of the agricultural stands are increasing the size of their stands which is interesting and there’s also a good range of car stands from Renault to Volkswagen,” she said.

Entries this year are up on last year and they are holding steady in other areas while home industries, especially painting, photos and baking are also up.

There will be two fashion shows also at the Virginia Show this year and as the Baileys Cow Parade happens the fashion parade will be starting inside the Show Centre, she said.

“We also have two live music stages with Ciaran Rosney playing from 4-7pm on the showgrounds with plenty of place to dance.

“The dairy conference is very popular, with a Cavan young Farmers Future Farm Village featuring the latest technology at the centre,” she said.

The Virginia show is expected to attract over 15,000 people this year with the Diageo Baileys Irish Champion Cow Competition the star attraction.

This prestigious livestock competition is sponsored by Diageo in conjunction with its cream supplier Glanbia Ingredients Ireland and carries a top prize of €2,500.

The also show includes:

  • Over 120 trade stands.
  • Live entertainment.
  • Artisan food stands.
  • Cookery demonstration by Nevin Maguire.
  • Fashion shows.
  • Sheep shearing demonstrations.
  • Dog agility competitions.
  • Childrens entertainment.
