More than 400 students around the country are awaiting payment of the Student Universal Support Ireland (SUSI) grant.

Education Minister Ruarí Quinn gave the information in a response to a query by Deputy Pearse Doherty at the Oireachtas. The information outlined the number of students per county who are currently awaiting payment of the SUSI grant, as on 2 July 2013 for the 2012/13 academic year.

Dublin has 114 students waiting to be paid, followed by Cork 40, Wicklow 29 and Galway 27.

SUSI confirmed it is awaiting confirmation of registration from the college or students that were awarded, as well as information from students who have not yet provided their bank details.
