For the weekend, there will be showers and sunshine while temperatures will hit 26 degrees in places next week, Met Eireann says.

Good sunshine will develop this afternoon (Friday) and evening but it will also turn showery, Met Eireann says.

Today (Friday) will be a fresh day highs of 17 to 20 degrees in moderate southwesterly breezes, it says.

There will be good clear periods overnight (Friday) with just a few isolated showers and there will be lowest temperatures of 9 or 10 degrees, it says.

Looking to the weekend, according to Met Eireann cloud will increase on Saturday afternoon and evening with rain gradually spreading eastwards.

There will be highs of 17 to 20 degrees in freshening southerly winds, it says.

On Sunday, rain will clear the east coast during the morning and good sunshine will develop from midday onwards, but a few showers will break out in the afternoon or evening, it says.

There will be highest temperatures again of 17 to 20 degrees in moderate southwesterly breezes, Met Eireann says.

Outlook for next week

Monday will start off a bright morning with good sunshine, but cloud will tend to increase in the afternoon, it says.

Scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle will occur on Monday along western coastal counties in the afternoon or evening, it says.

Met Eireann says there will be highs of 17 to 20 degrees on Monday.

Looking to Tuesday, early morning mist and drizzle will clear, with good sunshine developing and becoming warm by afternoon with highs of 20 to 24 degrees in light southeasterly breezes, it says.

According to Met Eireann, Wednesday will be the warmest day of the week with a warm, sunny day promised with temperatures reaching up to 26 degrees in places.

Isolated thunderstorms will break out on Wednesday afternoon or evening and on Thursday it will still be warm with hazy sunshine, but more widespread showers or thunderstorms, it says.
