Farmers hand over substantial amounts of money in levies to farm organisations though their milk or beef cheques.

These voluntary payments often called the ‘European Involvement Fund’ on farmer receipts are divided up between the IFA, ICMSA and Macra na Feirme.

Some people think this creates a conflict of interest for the farm organisations.
