The highlight for many, at this year’s Carlow Garden Festival is Monty Don, a gardening guru who is renowned for his BBC gardening show ‘Gardeners World’ among many other broadcasting shows.

As well as being a broadcaster Monty has written many books, giving an insight into the gardening world and his experiences.

This years festival will kick off on July 25 for a week-long gardening extravaganza and draws to a close on August 3.

The festival will play host to many gardening experts from Ireland and the UK.

There will be events for the novice gardener to the more competent gardener throughout the week-long festival.

Another familiar face on the TV is Rob Smith – the winner of this year’s BBC ‘Big Allotment Challenge’ who will be offering talks on companion planting and using produce from the garden.

A well known woman within the gardening world is Helen Dillon. She will be presenting a talk on gardening design and giving a fascinating insight into her own garden and experiences.

Dermot O’Neill, one of Ireland’s most well known garden experts will also be on hand at the festival and presenting a talk and walk at Huntington Castle.

With many other gardening experts scheduled for talks throughout the week, for anyone into their garden and gardening the festival is the place to be.
