Meat Industry Ireland, the representative organisation for the meat industry within Ibec, has announced the appointment of Cormac Healy as its new Senior Executive Director.

The new appointment is part of the restructuring of Meat Industry Ireland into a full business sector within Ibec which was agreed earlier this year and which will now encompass the beef, sheepmeat, pigmeat and poultry meat sectors.

Mr Healy will take up the new role in the coming months, once he has completed his responsibilities within the Irish Dairy Industries Association (IDIA).

Meat Industry Ireland is delighted to welcome Cormac’s return at this more senior level where he brings very strong leadership credentials as well as a hugely impressive knowledge of the meat sector.

He will lead a strengthened team to deal with the important challenges facing the sector, most particularly to support the industry in driving opportunities for growth across all the meat sectors, particularly the development of new markets.

He will also be a strong driver in the activation of relevant meat sector actions in Food Wise 2025.

His focus will also be on fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders, working closely with them to tackle the shared challenges facing the sector and cultivating an environment that will see this important sector grow and deliver on future opportunities.
