Ireland braced for more heavy rain

The weather across the country is set to remain unsettled across the country for the rest of the week, according to Met Eireann.

Heavy rain in recent days has brought our extended summer to a crushing end and these conditions are set to continue throughout the week. Heavy and in places persistent downpours on Saturday and Sunday led to Localised flooding in places.

On a positive note for this week the temperature is set to remain quite mild. However Met Eireann predicts that it will be cooler than recently and cool nights are expected.

Met Eireann forecasts that there will be sunny spells at times during the week. However there will be heavy showers also.

According to Met Eireann, indications suggest it will be cooler at the weekend and the weather will remain unsettled into the early days of next week.
