Agriland.ie would like to wish all our readers a happy Christmas and take the opportunity to say thanks.

Since our launch just over a year and a half ago, Agriland.ie has grown significantly. And that growth is down to you, our readers.

In September this year we added to our suite of offerings and launched an App. This app, which is available for iphone and android phone users to download for free, means you can have easier access to all the the latest news on your phone regardless of your phone coverage!

Over the past year and a half, Agriland.ie strives to deliver up-to-the minute independent news and analysis across all sectors of Irish and world agriculture.

But it’s the readers who contact us with news and comment who help our site to continually improve and develop.

And we’d like to say ‘thanks’ to each and every one of you who have helped to make us the biggest agricultural news website in the country.

Reflecting on the year that was, it was notable for being a year of record low prices in some sectors, while record highs were seen in others.

However, one issue tragically raised its head above the parapet again in 2015. With nearly 30 deaths on Irish farms, 2014 will go down among one of the most tragic years on Irish farms. Farm safety continues to be the greatest challenge facing the sector and it’s something everyone should reflect on over the Christmas period.

We urge all farmers to farm safely in 2015.

Have a happy Christmas and a healthy 2015, from all the team at Agriland.ie
