Glanbia has launched a new milk, Avonmore Protein Milk, in conjunction with the GAA and Gaelic Players Association.

Avonmore Protein Milk is a low fat milk that contains 50% additional protein for muscle development, providing a convenient and easily accessible source of protein. As a natural protein source, Avonmore Protein Milk helps rebuild and grow muscle mass as well as providing a good source for calcium, vitamin B12 and added vitamin D, according to Glanbia.

A number of brand ambassadors have been appointed to promote Avonmore Protein Milk whose images will feature on the cartons.

They include hurlers Tommy Walsh (Kilkenny), David Burke (Galway), Richie McCarthy (Limerick), Patrick Horgan (Cork), Tony Kelly (Clare), footballers Jack McCaffrey (Dublin), James O’Donoghue (Kerry), Conor McManus (Monaghan), Michael Newman (Meath) along with ladies football star Angela Walsh (Cork) and Wexford camogie ace Mags Darcy.

The 10-year revenue share agreement will see a percentage of all sales going towards the GPA Player Development Programme, supported by the GAA. This programme supports county players in critical areas of their off-field lives including education, career and personal development, as well as health and wellbeing.

Michael McArdle, Commercial Director for Glanbia Consumer Foods said: “While Avonmore Protein Milk is ideal for everyone who enjoys sport to add to their food and drink intake, we are very pleased that the GAA/GPA has agreed to support its launch and so many high-profile players from across football, hurling and camogie are becoming involved as brand ambassadors.”
