Avonmore is giving away 20,000 litres of free milk to returning holidaymakers in Dublin Airport this summer.

Passengers are being told to keep an eye out for a text message when they land and pick up their free carton of Avonmore milk in Spar in the arrivals hall.

The company has revealed that half of Irish holidaymakers are most concerned about having no milk in the fridge when returning home to Ireland from a summer holiday.

According to new research findings, 49pc of people worry more about having fresh milk in the fridge than lost car keys, dead plants in the garden or not being able to find their car in the car park.

“The Irish really are a nation of milk lovers; we drink more milk than any other country in the world so it’s one of the things that we miss most when we’re away,” said Christine O’Brien, Avonmore’s product group manager.

“At Avonmore we know this, so we’re giving away 20,000 litres of milk when people arrive back in the airport – so they can head straight home, put the kettle on and their feet up!”
