Figures published this afternoon show a massive surge in the price paid to potato farmers.
The Agricultural Price indices for June 2013, released today by the Central Statistics Office, show a rise in the price paid to farmers for potatoes, cereals, and milk.
Potatoes, at 144 per cent, was the greatest rise with cereals at 30.3 per cent and milk at 29.2 per cent.
