Austrian machinery manufacturer Pottinger – known here in Ireland for its range of tillage, grass and forage machinery – has appointed a new dealer in Co. Tipperary.

Speaking to AgriLand, Pottinger’s Irish subsidiary – Pottinger Ireland – confirmed that Agriquip will take on the entire Pottinger product range at its base in Littleton. It is effective immediately.

According to Pottinger Ireland, the appointment of Agriquip as a Pottinger dealer will “undoubtedly strengthen and expand the brand, by offering a reliable and efficient sales and back-up service”.

Pat Kearney will head up the venture as sales manager. Parts and after-sales service will be provided by a team working around him, consisting of technicians and store persons.

Speaking about the new appointment, Kearney commented: “I am excited to be able to offer such a widely renowned and innovative brand as Pottinger to our customers – both old and new.

Within the Pottinger brand, we will offer the full line of both tillage and grass equipment – as well as also backing up new and existing machines will full parts and service. It is a great opportunity for both myself and Agriquip going forward into the future.

Also commenting on the appointment, managing director of Pottinger Ireland, Diarmuid Claridge, added: “Farming practice is becoming ever more challenging because of the pressures that farmers and contractors alike are under – due to weather patterns, farming restraints and increasing workloads.
