Connacht Gold’s new half-fat butter product will be shown on a TV screen near you soon, as part of a new nationwide campaign.

The brand, which is owned by Aurivo Consumer Foods, will feature Connacht Gold ambassador Pippa O’Connor.

‘There are some things you don’t expect to find in a tub’ is the key theme of the ad.

The Connacht Gold brand has continued to go from strength to strength in recent times, with sales trading ahead of the category year-on-year, according to Aurivo Communications and Brand manager Karen McGarty.

Connacht Gold is different and unique, and is a brand that has something to say. We have a half-fat real butter. A product containing no vegetable oils or chemically treated fats.

“With the roll-out of this campaign, we aim to interrupt consumers’ perceptions of the category and behave differently to typical yellow fats advertising, in order to convey the distinctiveness of Connacht Gold,” she said.

Meanwhile, this is O’Connor’s first TV ad campaign and speaking at the launch of the campaign she said that having a hectic schedule and two young boys, it’s really important for her to have foods that are healthy.

To have Connacht Gold which is real butter, but has reduced fat is ideal. You get all the taste of butter, with all the health benefits of half the fat, and in the convenience of a tub.

The ad campaign is set to run for six weeks and will include ads which are 20-30 seconds long which will run across TV stations such as RTE, TV3, 3e, Sky and E4.

The campaign will also include some print, digital and social media advertising to accompany the TV ad, which will be directed by renowned Irish photographer, Barry McCall.

“With stunning photography, light humour and effortlessly cool glam of Pippa O’Connor, we embraced a distinct high-end fashion aesthetic to show Connacht Gold butter in a whole new light,” he said.
