The National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) has presented Carbery Group with an NSAI Award of Distinction in recognition of its long-standing international certification.

Carbery was presented with the award for achieving and maintaining the top level of certification for key international business standards at its facility in Ballineen, Co. Cork, over the last 20 years. The special award ceremony took place at the Crowne Plaza Airport Hotel in Dublin early in June.

The NSAI Awards of Distinction were given during a special NSAI business forum, which took place as part of the General Assembly of IQNet, the international network of certification bodies.

There were various speakers at the ceremony including: Michael Drechsel, IQNet President; Pat Ivory, Director of EU and International Affairs, IBEC; Paul Lynam, Head of Sectoral Policy, British Irish Chamber of Commerce; and Conor Mulvihill, Director, Irish Dairy Industries Association.

Paddy Barrett, Quality Manager, Carbery Group, commented on the occasion, stating: “We are delighted to receive an NSAI Award of Distinction.

At Carbery, maintaining high-quality standards is at the core of our business model, as we continue to provide sustainably-produced food and dairy ingredients.

“Carbery is committed to continuing to achieve the highest standards of excellence, through best-practice measures aimed to improve our competitiveness and reduce our environmental footprint,” he added.

There were 20 companies, including Carbery, that received an NSAI Award of Distinction. The awards form part of the NSAI’s 20th anniversary celebrations, an array of events to mark 20 years of the National Standards Authority of Ireland in its current model.
