Animal Health Ireland’s (AHI) annual conference is in Rochestown Park Hotel, Co Cork on 23 October.

The morning session on BVD will focus on the national BVD programme in Switzerland and a review of the Irish national BVD eradication programme. The second session will be based on CellCheck and will centre on reducing the Somatic Cell Count of the national herd.

After lunch, a framework for Johne’s disease control in Ireland will be detailed along with an overview of the Australian Johne’s disease programme.

The final section of the conference will comprise a series of interviews with representatives from Bord Bia, the Irish Dairy Bord, the Department of Agriculture, Teagasc and AHI.
