Blas na hEireann awards
Mullingar based An Olivia Chocolate has been named Supreme Champion at the Blas na hEireann National Irish Food Awards, which were presented in Dingle over the weekend.
Set up by chocolatier Olivia Curran, An Olivia Chocolate won a Gold award in the Chocolate – Individual category for Luxury Box of Chocolates (mixed), and Gold and Silver in the Hot Beverages – Other category for Irish Cream Hot Chocolate Pot and Irish Cream Coffee Mocca Pot.
The Best Artisan award went to Skeaghanore West Cork Duck, while Heavenly Tasty Organics was deemed Best Export Opportunity. Glorious Sushi – Lecho Sauce was named the Best Product, Bewley’s won the Best Packaging Award for its Expresso Bean Packaging, and O’Sullivan’s Bakery won the Packaging Development Bursary. The Business Diversification Award went to Hartnetts Oils, Rogha na Gaeltachta was won by Bluirini Blasta and Iasc – Seafood Butter won Seafood Innovation.
