Auction report: Contracting ‘gear’ under the hammer at retirement sale
A major ‘on-site‘ machinery dispersal sale (auction) was held on behalf of Paul Gunther Contracting (who has retired) at Felthorpe, Norwich (England) on Wednesday (February 7).
The auction comprised of tractors, foragers, loading shovels, a telescopic handler and an array of equipment (including multiple muck spreaders and trailers).
These events are a regular occurrence in the UK – thanks to the availability of a large pool of equipment. They come up just a handful of times in any given year here in Ireland.
Here, in this article, we focus on how machinery – mainly muck spreaders and trailers – fared ‘under the hammer’.

The sale was conducted by ‘Irelands Arnolds Keys’ – a UK-based auctioneering firm.

Please note that all of the prices referenced below are in pounds sterling.
No buyer’s premium applies to these prices (excluding payments through ‘i-bidder’, which incurred a 3% excluding VAT surcharge).
Sale (hammer) prices are subject to VAT at the local rate (20%).
