Mechanical design engineer
Hi-Spec Engineering is looking to take on a mechanical design engineer for the agricultural and industrial sectors.
This is an opportunity for an individual to work with one of the leading agricultural machinery manufacturers in Ireland – with the main concentration of the business focusing on agricultural vacuum tankers, diet feeders and muck spreaders.
Responsibilities of this role include: producing 3D models and 2D fabrication drawings for customised machine orders; producing detailed specifications and designs based on customer requirements; and liaising with sales personnel and customers.

Stores and distribution assistant
Farmer-owned co-operative Progressive Genetics has recently advertised a vacancy for a stores and distribution assistant.
The company claims to be a leading provider of: top-quality dairy and beef genetics; AI services; milk recording; and advisory support services to farmers in the Leinster, north-east and west of Ireland regions.
The successful candidate will be based in the company’s Enfield stores and they will be required to assist the distribution team during the spring sales season.

Milk recording support
A number of other roles are also available within Progressive Genetics. The co-operative is looking to looking to recruit technical support for its milk recording customers.
Responsibilities of the role include helping with SCC (somatic cell count) issues, interpreting data to support decision making on farms as well supporting the company’s milk recording field staff.
The right candidate must have good communication skills, an ability to understand farming issues, and an ability to adapt to the job at hand.
A strong knowledge of Irish dairy farming, an agricultural qualification or a strong history of performance would be an advantage if you thinking of applying for this position. More details are available here.
Sales support executive
As demand for its services continues to grow, Progressive Genetics is looking to recruit a sales support executive to its expanding team.
The right candidate will be expected to support the field sales team, as well as dealing directly with farmers. The successful candidate will be based in the company’s Enfield or Dublin offices.
This role will support the company’s sales team to deliver its range of solutions to farmers – these include: genetics; AI services; milk recording; heat detection; pregnancy testing; and more.
Again a strong knowledge of Irish dairy farming, an agricultural qualification or a strong history of performance would be an advantage when applying for this role.

A sales representative position has also become available with Progressive Genetics this month.
While dealing directly with farmers, the appropriate candidate will be expected to provide knowledge and advice on the company’s full range of products and services.
Those applying to the role should have good communication skills and be capable of building long-term relationships with potential customers.
The role will involve a combination of work in both the office and the field, with a considerable portion of time spent dealing directly with farmers.
