There’s an unsettled week in store, with outbreaks of rain and it will be milder than normal for this time of year, Met Eireann has said.

There’s rain on the way this evening (Monday), it said.

It will spread from the southeast to other parts tonight, however, the rain will be mostly light and intermittent, according to Met Eireann.

There’ll be lowest temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees in moderate to fresh southeast winds, it said.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) will start mainly dry but Met Eireann has said that rain will soon develop again in the southwest and then spread to all parts during the morning and early afternoon.

The rain will be heavy in the southwest and south with fog on coasts and on high ground, it said.

It will become drier in the west and south during the afternoon, it said and southeast winds will increase fresh to strong with the arrival of the rain and will moderate again during the afternoon.

Temperatures on Tuesday will be between 10 and 13 degrees, according to Met Eireann.

Tuesday night will bring outbreaks of rain and those will be heaviest in the southwest; it will be mild and breezy with night time temperatures above 10 degrees in most areas, it said.

Looking to Wednesday, Met Eireann has said that it will be mostly cloudy but it will be dry for much of the day.

It will become even milder with afternoon temperatures in the low to mid teens, but becoming windy with fresh to strong southerly winds, it said.

According to Met Eireann, temperatures will not fall below 10 degrees for the majority of the country on Wednesday night.

On Thursday, there will be occasional rain but it will stay mild with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds, it said.

Looking to Friday and the weekend, Met Eireann has said that it will continue mild and unsettled, with occasional rain and episodes of strong winds.
