Aldi strikes gold and wins 12 awards

Aldi Stores Ireland has won more titles than any other retailer in Ireland at the inaugural Irish Quality Food and Drink Awards.

Beating off competition from all the other retailers, Aldi struck gold to win 12 awards for its Irish own-brand range including the prestigious Overall Gold Q, which is awarded to one product that stands out above all the other entries.

Aldi’s Irish products performed strongly across a broad range of categories, winning awards in the cereal and cereal bars, cheese, coffee, tea and other hot beverages, dairy and milk products, fresh meat and game, grocery ambient sweet, pies and pastries, ready meals and ales groups.  Aldi’s Duneen Specially Selected Handmade Farmhouse Raspberry Yogurt received the Overall Gold Q acclaim, which is the highest accolade awarded to one product that represents the best of the best.  In addition, Aldi’s Specially Selected Tipperary Blue was Highly Commended and Vive Rock Shandy was Commended.

The prestigious awards recognise and reward excellence, quality and innovation in Irish food and drinks products.  Winners were chosen by a panel of 70 leading food experts following a rigorous judging process.
