There will be dry weather this weekend with just the occasional shower, next week will be mostly dry but cloudy, according to Met Eireann.

Eastern and northeastern areas will tend to stay dry most of the time this morning (Friday) except for the odd shower, and there will some sunshine here through the day, it said.

Southern and western counties will be more cloudy with occasional rain and drizzle during the day, it said. There will be highest temperatures of 14 to 16 degrees in light south to southeasterly breezes.

Tonight (Friday) most of the rain and drizzle will clear early tonight and good clear spells will develop in many places, it said.

There will be lowest temperatures of 9 or 10 degrees in light southeasterly breezes and fog patches will develop again towards dawn.

Tomorrow (Saturday) there will be the occasional shower throughout the day but it will be mostly dry and bright with good sunshine developing.

It said there will be highest temperatures of 14 or 15 degrees on Saturday.

Looking to Sunday, Met Eireann said that fog will be widespread through the morning time but will lift from most places by midday.

It will be otherwise dry for the day with good sunshine and highest temperatures of 14 to 16 degrees. There will be some rain in the northwest of the country during the evening /early night, Met Eireann said.

Overall there will be good drying conditions for the week ahead, Met Eireann said, however, patchy rain or isolated showers over the next few days will result in poor to moderate drying conditions at times.

Conditions for spraying will be mostly good for the week ahead it said but will deteriorate at times over the weekend in any precipitation.

Currently, all soils are trafficable and soil moisture deficits will improve further with the below average rainfall amount expected for the week ahead, it said.

According to Met Eireann, it will continue to be dry on Monday to Thursday but it will be mostly cloudy with highest temperatures of 11 or 12 degrees.

There will be light breezes at first but much fresher easterly breezes by Thursday, it said.

Early indications for next weekend suggest that there will be some showers but it will be generally dry and cloudy with temperatures 10 to 12 degrees in easterly winds.
